Chédiak-Higashi syndrome is an autosomal recessive disorder, neutropenia, defective degranulation, and delayed microbial killing. Neutrophils and other
leukocytes have giant granules (can be seen on blood smears). Effect of microtubule polymerization causes delayed or
decreased fusion of lysosomes with phagosomes in leukocytes and thus impairs phagocytosis of bacteria.
